The History
Built to be the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Lampadosa. The construction began around 1740 on a land donated to the fellowship. On August 31, 1772, the main chapel is blessed by the bishop of the Dioceses and religious services begin.
In 1929 goes through a new work of revitalization that totally changes its style, going to the Neocolonial, with influence of the Mexican architecture. Its inauguration takes place in 1934 and it is the present temple.

Use the subway! Get off at the subway station "Uruguaiana" and look for "Acesso B - Senhor dos Passos" exit. By it, you will be at "Sr. dos Passos" street.
Turn right and walk to "Avenida Passos" street. On the way you will cross the streets "dos Andradas" and "da Conceição".
Once you reach "Avenida Passos" street, turn left and walk in the direction of "Praça Tiradentes", (a square , following the flow of the cars).
Just after crossing "Luiz de Camões" street, you will be on the side of the "João Caetano" Theater and in front of the church, which is just across the street ("Av. Passos").
Just cross the street at the sign to get to it!
