The History
Built to spread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it originates from a campaign launched in 1890, by Monsignor Mariano Antonio de Velasco Molina (parish priest of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Glória, in Laranjeiras e). In 1903 it was built a chapel and, five years later, the current church is completed. Along with the completion of the church, the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is created.
