The History
Built to replace the hermitage that had been in place since 1757, it had as its objective to house all the brothers and devotees of San Francisco de Paula, who were often obliged to attend Mass outside it, and better to honor their patron .
Thus, on January 5, 1759, the initial mark of the new church was launched and construction work began. Just 42 years later, in 1801, part of the church is considered completed, so the works of interior decoration begins and the image of St. Francis of Paula is transferred to it.
On April 12, 1865, 106 years after the official beginning of the works, it is considered entirely finished, being defined the date of May 7, 1865 as its inauguration date.
